How Long Does a Steel Memorial Bench Last?
There is no honest single lifespan for every outdoor bench. Exposure, coating quality, installation, cleaning and accidental damage all matter. A well-made, professionally finished steel bench can provide many years of service when it is installed correctly and inspected regularly.
What protects an outdoor steel bench?
Eternal Benches uses precision-cut steel followed by professional powder coating. The coating separates the metal from moisture and gives the bench its finished colour and surface. Careful preparation and complete coverage are important, particularly around edges, joints and fixings.
No outdoor finish is completely maintenance-free. Chips or deep scratches should be dealt with promptly so exposed steel is not left open to the weather.

- Correct foundations and drainage around the feet
- Damage from grounds equipment, vandalism or impacts

Simple maintenance
Wash the bench periodically with clean water, mild soap and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse away residue and inspect the finish while cleaning. Avoid wire brushes, abrasive pads and aggressive chemicals that can damage the powder coating.
Keep vegetation and soil away from the frame, check that fixings remain secure and contact us if you notice a chip, scratch or area that may need professional attention.
